Heather With Weather
Acrylic on canvas paper mounted on birch ply.
This work is inspired by the heather on the moorland and Yorkshire. Late summer it really starts to pop! Most of my work is based on memory of places and how they make me feel. I love the life in the heather, sometimes we go up to sit and watch for birds of prey. I often find rest and energy in the expansive landscapes. The more dramatic the sky the more invigorating and lifegiving the scenery is. Often, I paint to connect with myself. My abstract landscapes reflect both the environments I visit and the emotional landscapes I face as a woman with ADHD. I’m dealing with my own Kathy. (for the other Wuthering Heights fans out there!)
Delighted that Heather with Weather has been accepted for exhibition at Dot Gallery in Cockermouth.
Inspired by the shifting light, colour and weather of the landscape, this piece is built through expressive layers of acrylic on canvas paper.
